The creative talents of Kevin Phillips, Gillian Jeffreys and Francesca Kay have combined to devise an exciting arts initiative, culminating in a musical to be staged under the title ‘The Right to Survive’ June 2000 at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon.

Gillian brings her extensive experience of motivating children through dance and drama to the project. This has allowed her major input in the devising process of The Right to Survive, as well as the staging of the show.

Francesca is a poet who has written lyrics for some of the songs of the show, as well as dialogue. Part of her work with the children draws together the threads of the final script.

Musical Director Kevin brings his talents and enthusiasm to the project. He and Gillian have a very long association of creating theatrical productions for and with schools and community groups alike. He is liasing with Debbie Campbell, one of the composers, for this production. Kevin and Francesca have also collaborated on a song of his own composition ‘The Future’s in Our Hands.

All three hope to create a theatrical and artistic experience that will enhance and enrich the childrens’ education, both in school and out. They share a creative vision, and have the commitment to the ongoing development of live arts in schools and the wider community

Mission Statement
